Most professionals work with people who have strong personalities. They have good days and bad days just like we do. And every once in a while, we encounter them on a bad day. We are all grown adults but we have a part of us that hates to be yelled at and wants to be respected and liked. When that part of us is threatened by an uncharacteristic snap from a co-worker, supervisor or adversary, that can really sour our sense of stability at work. Don’t take someone’s bad mood personally and don’t let it derail a good day. Remind yourself that your self-worth cannot be shaken by someone else’s bad mood. And that bad mood has everything to do with that person and nothing to do with you.
