The law of attraction can be complicated to explain. There is a lot of information out there and it can be overwhelming to figure out what you can do to improve your life once you realize that you control your reality. I have tried several techniques and just like a crash diet I have gone all in, gotten frustrated, and quit altogether. When I finally found a few techniques that were easy, enjoyable and sustainable, I really started seeing significant shifts in my reality.
My LOA Philosophy: Your Current Self vs. Your Highest Self
One way to look at the law of attraction is by visualizing a scale, just like the scales of justice that have long represented the legal system. One side of the scale represents who you are right now: your current self. The other side of the scale represents who you really are: your highest potential or your highest self.
The side of the scale that represents your current self is weighed down with resistance: limiting beliefs, fears, and other negative energy. The goal is to remove the negative energy from our current self so that we can get into alignment with our highest self. It’s an energetic balancing act that we engage in on a regular basis.
One way to shift the scales is to focus positively and to feel good on a consistent basis. How do you do that? I have done this by implementing simple spiritual techniques into my life.
Vision Boarding
I have written about vision boards previously and I cannot say enough good things about this technique. Sometimes we spend so much time in our everyday lives thinking about how we can serve others, that we forget to think about ourselves. If someone walked up to you right now and asked you what you want, would you be able to concisely lay out what you want, why you want it and how each of those things would make you feel? Or is what you want floating around in your mind along with all the other things you have to get done today?
A vision board takes all of the things that you want out of your head and into tangible form. When it is in front of you, it is real to you and your subconscious and it is attainable. The great thing about vision boards is once you find the images, your work is done. All you have to do is look at it and your positive energy will do the work for you.
There are several ways to make vision boards: you can use pen and paper, get a bunch of magazines, cut out the pictures that represent what you want, and tape or glue them to a piece of paper or poster board. You can make digital vision boards on your computer by downloading pictures on Google images or Pinterest. You can also turn the images from your digital vision board into a slideshow, put it to music and make a vision movie.
It does not matter how you choose to make a vision board. The goal is to put images together that make you feel good. When you feel good, you tip the scales and get closer to being in alignment with who you really are. And when that happens, success and abundance will flow in all areas of your life.
